Termites and your pier and beam home.

Subterranean termites are going to spell a nightmare for your foundation! They locate a food source such as the wooden beams of your house, they begin creating mud tunnels in the soil and begin chowing down on your house! The worst part is they wat along the grain of wood, consuming only the soft wood. This leads to damage structural supports such as floor joists and other nearby wood sources.

Termites are unable to damage foundations that are made of block, concrete or brick. We always install termites shields whenever we are repairing and building new piers. We definitely recommend having a pest control person come and spray your home for termite jfnestations if you have located one. Contact us if you uncertain if termites have eaten away your foundation!

Just because you have a brick home doesn't mean it's protected from TERMITES. They will often be found traveling behind the brick veneer where you may never lay eyes on them. The termites can damage the framing timbers of your home since your brick house is still made of wood.
